My process
The innovative idea of the project is in the way you enhance your loadout.
I created categories for both the weapons and the passive upgrades, making "archetypes" of loadouts.
To enhance your loadout, you have to level it up by using it and with enough xp, it can be upgraded.
The upgrades are available only in specific places, the player has to explore its surroundings if he wants to survive
When the system of drops was finally designed, I had to make a prototype in machination.io to analyse possible issues

Combined with a drop generator on Excel, I could easily know what the player will have depending on his actions

This fasten the tweaking part of the project and was useful in discussion as we could both explaining issues with simpler conditions.
